Zonnedimmer makes sure sustainable energy in the Netherlands can keep growing. We automatically dim solar panels at the moments when feeding in earns nothing or overloads the grid. Soon we will also steer your heat pump, charging point and home battery smartly, based on what you generate and how busy the grid is.
Our vision
The solution is already on the roofs.
Grid congestion, negative power prices and the end of net metering threaten to stall the growth of solar energy. Steered together, the more than 2 million homes with solar panels become the largest flexible capacity in the Netherlands. They keep the grid stable and make room for more sustainable energy. Those who contribute, earn from it.
Our goal
By 2030, Zonnedimmer is the independent standard households use to let their solar panels, and soon their whole home, work with the grid.
What we do
With fully online authorization, monitoring, and control of solar panel installations, Zonnedimmer offers an innovative solution to control solar panels in real time and at scale. Through official contracted connections with inverter manufacturers, generation can be temporarily reduced or switched off without modifications to installations. This way we keep the electricity grid stable and affordable.
In the Zonnedimmer app, solar panel owners see what is happening and what they have saved or earned by dimming their installation. We also provide customer support and pay out the compensation to owners.
